Wow time flies. I've been really busy these last few weeks, sorry for not posting. Here are a few cards I did for the card workshop. Hope you enjoy them. If you would like to host a card making class and invite some friends over, let me know. We make 12 cards and everything is pre-cut for so it's really easy to put together. You stamp the sentiments that you want.

Cards were made using the Sarsparilla paper kit. Just ask if you have questions on how these were made. Have a great Canada Day tomorrow.

Birthday Invites

Yay they are finally done. It took quite a while, though not overly hard, it was just a half hour here, a half hour there. And I made 6 of them to add to it all. My daughter just loved them though, so it was all worth it.

Everything other than the brads, designer paper and Cinderella Stamp is CTMH. They obviously are Disney products and the brads are Making Memories. The DP was so cute too, like little shooting stars that were glittery. I embossed the Cinderella image and the Senitment on the front of the card in Siver. Inked the edges of the Vellum in Crystal Blue and put it all together as seen there. The Cinderella image was colored in using the CTMH markers in Heavenly Blue, Crystal Blue, and Sunny Yellow. Now to prepare for the party.......

For a friend....

I made a card today for a friend who lost someone that was dear to them. My heart aches when something like that happens, and I only hope that my creations help ease the hurt that remains.

I used the Simple Pleasures Level 2 Kit including Cocoa, Bamboo, and Colonial White Cardstock. The flower image is from the Friendship Blessings stamp set. I stamped the solid flower in Twilight and used Cocoa for the overlay image. I also inked the edges of the Colonial White CS in Cocoa to make it stand out a little more. The Sentiment is from Victorine Originals, I have had it for a while now. The Bamboo Bigger Brads are from the Mini-Medley Shades of Chocolate. No frills, I wanted it to be simple and elegant.
I have also been working on some birthday invitations for my daughter who is turning 6 on the 13th. I will be posting them in the next few days.....Stay Tuned.

Little Birdie

I was playing around making some cards the other night and this is one I thought I would share. I wanted a card that you could maybe give to a guy. It fits that criteria I think. I used the bird stamp from the June word puzzle, and the sentiment is from the May Stamp of the Month - Say it in Style. The paper is from the Creative Basics Silhouette Kit, and the brads are the new black bitty brads.

BIC14 - Be Inspired Challenge

I made this card for an Inspiration Challenge. This is the picture you are supposed to use for the inspiration on your card.

And this is what I came up with....I've had this Little Treasures set for so long now and never got around to using it. I stamped the jar on Vellum using Staz-On. Cut it out and cut out a bunch of little Jelly Beans in Moonstruck, Sweet Leaf, and Orange. I placed them on the back of the jar and put a line of Crystal Glass around the outside edge of the jar and adhered to White Daisy cardstock. The Jelly Beans move which is so fun. The rest is pretty self explanatory, but if you have any questions don't hesitate to ask.

Gettin Crafty with the Seniors

I am really excited I get to start teaching classes at the Seniors Centre in my town. I will be doing a 2 page layout that they can put together or a set of 5 cards. As always with my classes, I pre-cut everything so I think it will be perfect for the ladies and maybe even gentlemen (you never know, there may be crafty old men out there) to create and record their memories. This is the set of 5 cards that I have created for them to do in June.

I wanted to keep it somewhat simple for them because we are just starting out and I don't know their level of craftiness. So I included the use of some brads and some ribbon. In the following months maybe I will throw some more stuff at them, but for now, nice and easy.
All Products are CTMH
Paper - Paper Garden Reflections Kit
Colors - Petal, Sweet Leaf, Blush, Buttercup
Ribbon - Blush Polka Dot Grosgrain
Brads - White My Accents

Chalk Board - Dressed up

My 3 year old has been having a really hard time with the fact that her older sister gets to go to school every day. So I decided to make her a little chalk board so that she can play "school" at home and I can help her learn her alphabet and numbers. My sisters would attest to the fact that all I ever wanted to play when I was a kid was school and I was always the teacher. So I guess i'm well prepped for the task. All I did to make this board was decoupaged on the wood and smoothed the paper over it. After it was dry I used white paint on the sides and then painted over the paper with the decoupage glue again. This way sticky little fingers will come off a little easier. LOL It was pretty basic and easy but it made her feel special, so that's what matters most.

Card Sketch Challenge - SC176

I decided to try out one of the sketch challenges on SCS... This is what I came up with.

I cut out some layers from the Creative Basics Silhouette Collection and matted the upper one on White Daisy CS, then inked the edges in Black. I also inked the edges of the base Bamboo CS in black. I added some black bitty brads in the upper corner, I just love these, they are so cute. After adding ribbon (It comes with the Creative Basics kit, how easy is that) I stamped a sentiment from the May stamp of the month on Colonial White. Then I put it all together on a card base.
Did you participate in the same challenge? I would love to see what you come up with. Post a link if you did in the comments section.

Sarsparilla Layout

I was looking for pictures that would go well with this paper pack and I found some of our engagement pictures. They were taken at my parents farm amongst some old machinery and cars. I thought they were quite fitting for the pattern and colors in this kit. I used the dimensional flowers that are self adhesive, and the new bitty black brads.

A Mother's Day card for my Mother

I wasn't going to post this till after Mother's day because I didn't want her to see the card I am going to give her. Then I remembered that I haven't told her about my blog yet, so shhhhh. I had some fun with this card I cut the flowers out of Vellum, then inked the edges with Cocoa ink and a sponge blending it inwards. Then I adhered some Petal cardstock to the back of some clear Craft Buttons with Liquid Glass. While I was waiting for them to dry I stamped some stems on the Simple Pleasures B&T paper using the Friendships Blessings stamp set. I also stamped the sentiment using the Simple Beauty Stamp set. After all was dry I trimmed around the buttons adhered them to the flowers and assembled them on the B&T. I then mounted all on a piece of Desert Sand cardstock and mounted on a card base. Enjoy !!

Mother's Day Cards

I have been making some Mother's day cards as the holiday approaches. I had a lot of fun making these two. I was using paper and punch outs from the Serendipity Kit that was a special promo a few months back. Then I stamped the images using the White Pigment Ink and Chocolate Ink. After it was all dry, as the pigment ink takes a little while to dry completely, I put it all together using some bigger brads to hold the flower layers together.

My Altered Clock

I really didn't like my boring plain clock that I bought from Ikea, so I decided to make something a little prettier that could go on my scrapbooking room wall.
To make the clock I took some Caprice paper and adhered it to the base of the clock using decoupage glue. Smooth the paper out and let dry for a while. Then I stamped the numbers from the Homestead alphabet using Crystal Blue and Honey Inks. I cut them out and mounted them on some Colonial White cardstock and trimmed a little border around them. After the paper was dry, I stuck the letters on and put the hands back on the clock. Voila, a much nicer looking clock to look at.
