Blog Candy

Sooooo Tisha you were the only one who posted what you liked about Autumn so you get the Sarah Kay card I made. I will bring it to the workshop. :) Thanks for your support girl, you're awesome.

I'm Thankful......

For families around the Thankgiving holiday. I'm sorry I didn't get this posted sooner, I just didn't have a whole lot of "my time" this past weekend. We cooked a turkey and have my whole side of the family (about 15 people) over for the big feast. I really wanted to space things out too so I didn't get stressed on the big day. I baked the pies a day ahead, the buns and did a lot of the prep work for the monday. I have a couple of pictures to share with you. And I have a project that I did as well to use for a centerpiece, save the best for last......

The delicious pies, I also made my husband's favorite....raspberry apple crisp. Yum!

The turkey, my dh bought me a new roasting pan to cook him a turkey in lol.

My girls pullin the wish bone to see who gets to make a wish.

This is the little project I did, I bought these ornamental pumpkins for like a $1 each. I stamped on them using Staz-On. If you plan to try this let me warn you how SLIPPERY Staz-On is. Oh boy I had no idea what I had gotten myself into lol. I think I had to stamp each letter at least twice to get a semi decent looking image. The grooves in the pumpkin weren't very helpful either hehe. Anyways, it can be done, and I was pleased with how they turned out in the end. I did get a "you are just too creative" out of my sister so it was all worth it. :)

Autumn has arrived....

I've been working on autumn themed cards lately. I created this one yesterday, but couldn't post is because my camera was in the van with my husband at work. I used some older paper that I'm trying to use up. I tend to stash paper and don't use it because I don't want to run out. I know it's silly, but that's just the way I am.

The sentiment is from the Autumn Splendor stamp set. Paper flower and leaves are the Just Blooms sunflower and leaves. Cardstock is Autumn Terracotta, and a Barn Red bigger brad to hold the flower in place. (All products are CTMH)
I hope you are enjoying autumn, i'm just really hoping it doesn't snow tomorrow like it's forcasted to do.

It is hands down my favorite season, and I would like to hear how you celebrate it. The winner will get a bonus little something if they posted about this giveaway on their blog. More Time.....Yay!!!

Now that the kiddos are in school, and I've started a carpool with another mom, I have more time to create. Woohoo. Although first I think I need to tidy up my desk. Whenever I start scrappin or baking for that matter, I end up making a huge mess. Does this only happen to me? Or are there others in the same boat as me? It's a good thing I have a maid husband who doesn't mind cleaning, the kitchen that is. He wouldn't dream of touching my paper crafting stuff. I'm so grateful for that cleaning gene he has, couldn't ask for a better husband. Anyways on to the card.

I created this the other day using an image I ordered months ago from Sweet N Sassy Stamps. It's a Sarah Kay image and I love all of her images, they are just beautiful. I colored it in using pencil crayons, I may try using a watercolor technique next time, just wanted to try it out first before I broke out the big guns (aka techniques). I layered the image on some pink carnation cardstock (I know retired, but it matched her little dress perfectly). Then pop dotted on patterned paper from the Sweet Pea kit, on a base of more Pink Carnation. It was missing a little something so I added some buttons to finish it off.

Catalogue Links are Fixed

I noticed that the catalogue links I had posted on the sidebar were not working properly so I've changed them and they all work perfectly now. Whew, I hate it when stuff like that happens. Anyways, now you can view all the catalogues for this year online. Remember, you can order items from any of the catalogues till the end of this year. Then they retire certain items.
Hope you are having a great week.

Trick or Treat

I know it's not quite Halloween yet but, I thought I'd get a jump start on some of my projects. I found these cute little Play-Doh containers at Costco, 80 for like $10 you can't beat that. It gave me a great idea for a fun little item that my girls could give their classmates at school. I found a perfect little stamp set that I ordered from a friend for the tops. I then cut out the layers of circles with my Nesties and covered the outside with a 1"x6" piece of stiped paper out of Last years catty, Enchanted.

I think they turned out really cute, whadya think? Now I can't wait to see the girls give them out in class. It's kind of a nice change for a Halloween treat minus the Sugar content. LOL

So Excited.......

To Kick Off the new catty on Saturday. I'm having an open house from 10-2pm to showcase some of the new products. I have been a busy little bee trying to get all the workshop examples done so that people can see and touch them. So I have been creating and I will share soon, I promise. I do however have a card to share with you that I made last week.

I made this using an old kit I had in my stash. I went through and organized things so I knew where everything was again. LOL I cut the flower out of the B&T paper mounted it on Vanilla Cream CS, trimmed around it and popped it out on the Leaf B&T paper. I used the Word Window punch to make a sentiment spot in the leaf B&T. The sentiment is from the Say it in Style Stamp set. Colors are Vanilla Cream, Smokey Plum, and Olive.

I hope you can join me on Saturday, it's going to be lots of fun.

Summer is Killer

I've hit a little bit of a road block with creating lately, it's summer, that's my excuse. It's difficult to find inspiration when the kids are home constantly asking for something to do, LOL. I do have some things that I created a while ago that I will share with you. Hopefully it will spark someone's creativity, cuz mine has gone awol.

This is a mini accordian album that I made up for a workshop a few months back. It uses CTMH's True Fit folios folded in half, and scored to make pockets. The tags are ready for pictures to be added or journaling. It was lots of fun to make. I used the Life Delights Reflections Kit for this one.

I can't remember who had the tutorial for making this cute little basket. But kudos to you because it was wonderful. I decided to try it out because it looked super cute. Paper is Sweet Leaf CS, and Chocolate grosgrain ribbon. Brads are MM.

Congrats

I found some time to create today, so this is what I came up with. I made this card using the With love and Gracious Greetings Stamp sets. I random stamped the flower image on the Chocolate CS do give it a little more interest. I layered the Amy Butler DP over that and then layered the seniment piece on some Sweet leaf CS after inking the edges with Chocolate ink. The little flowers are from the Mini-Medley Chocolate accents from Spring Catty, with a Colonial White brad holding them in place.

Thanks for taking a look,

Cottage Floral

I decided to use some new stamps that I got a while back and make some fun cards. The first one is a vertical open card using Boom-Di-Ada paper, Cottage Floral, Spot on Backgrounds, and Gracious Greetings Stamp sets. Colors are Hollyhock, Olive, Sweet Leaf, Buttercup and White.

This card uses the same Boom-Di-Ada paper and the Gracious Greetings stamp set. I also used some dew drops in Lily Pad. The sentiment is popped out, though you can't tell in the picture.

Thanks for stopping by.

Another Layout....Woohoo

I sat down and made another layout yesterday....I may be on to something. That's 2 of my own done in the same month. It feels really good to finally start whittling down the pile of pictures that I want to scrap. I have completed the journaling but I am waiting till I get my Life's a Jungle Stamp set to add something extra to the page. This is a layout of my daughter who is now almost four. So yea i'm a little behind. LOL

Have a wonderful day,
